The Hefley Tec computer is more powerful.  It makes your driving experience easy and fulfilling.

For years automobile engines have used computers to monitor functions within the engine, receiving data from oxygen sensors, heat sensors, airflow monitors, tachometers, and speedometers. In some cases this data is used to affect performance as when the fuel more precisely dispensed and in some cases the ignition is advanced or retarded. Recently, some manufacturers have added computer-controlled valve timing. But there is much more performance and efficiency to be gained from real-time adjustments made by computer. The Hefley Engine uses a computer to vary its displacement as well as control valve timing. The engine adjusts its size internally to match the immediate power needs of the driving situation. When more power is needed the engine gets larger inside, when less is needed it gets smaller inside. In this way the engine operates continuously at or near maximum efficiency. And it’s equipped with a variable compression ratio feature, allowing the driver a choice of fuels. Once a fuel is chosen the computer adjusts the compression ratio in the engine to match. If the driver wishes to use gasoline in the city, then switch to more efficient diesel or another alternate fuel for longer trips, he can just the driver just needs to touch a button on the dash. Additionally he can choose a power profile such as Normal, Super Economy, or Extra Power Mode. The onboard computer will automatically make the adjustment and monitor engine performance to ensure it’s at peak efficiency. In addition to monitoring the overall torque used, the computer will detect a tiny pulse on the power wheel each time a cylinder fires. Since it also controls and monitors the Ignition, it can tie each pulse to a separate cylinder, allowing it to determine how strongly each individual cylinder is firing. The computer can change some of the settings and again analyze the power from each cylinder. This information can be used to alert the driver that certain items need attention like a partially clogged fuel injector or a fouled sparkplug. After consulting with the driver the computer will attempt to correct some of the engine’s problems.

As previously mentioned, the most important task for the onboard computer is to select the proper position for the variable compression mechanism as well as the variable displacement mechanism. But the torque produced from different types of fuel will be kept on file along with other data. This information can make the driver aware of how each type of fuel has performed. For instance, a driver might want to compare low octane gasoline at $2.30. He might wonder if setting the engine to burn premium gas at $2.50 would make any difference. He can ask the computer to compare the performance of these two fuels. The computer would then adjust the settings for that particular fuel, switch to the proper fuel cell, operate briefly, and then record the results. The computer would go to the second fuel and repeat the sequence. The torque, performance, emissions and fuel used would be used in comparing the two fuels. The computer would then factor in the price of each fuel, telling you which one is a better bargain than the other.

Since this engine can adjust the compression ratio specifically to match the fuel being used, the driver might be surprised that the better bargain might be the premium fuel. Similarly the driver might want to compare gasoline with diesel, fuel oil or even corn oil, all which can be used in the Hefley Engine. When the engine is adjusted to get the maximum efficiency from a fuel, it will burn very clean and operate almost pollution free.

Like a waiter taking your order, the computer will ask for your preferences and then give you the choice of options that follow. Below is an example conversation between a Driver and the Computer controlling the Hefley Engine. (In addition to the voice program and a display, some input would also be available. Computer: Please turn off the radio to assist with voice recognition.
Driver: Okay
Driver: Compare
Computer: Compare what?
Driver: Compare regular gasoline with premium gasoline.
Computer: Should we compare with the last regular gas you used, or use manufacturer's average ratings?
Driver: Use last regular.
Computer: Do you have a sample of premium?
Driver: No, just use the manufacturers list.
Computer: The last gas you used was 4% under the average efficiency according to the Manufacturer's list.
Driver: Yes but it was all I could afford.
Computer: The regular you specified is 9% less efficient than the average Premium.
Driver: I paid $2.30 for the regular and can get Premium for $2.45 what will I save?
Computer: What is the total distance of your trip?
Driver: 212 miles.
Computer: You will save $2.22 if you use Premium.
Driver: What if I used Diesel.
Computer: What is the price of Diesel
Driver: Its $2.33
Computer: Do you want to compare regular to diesel using the manufactures list?
Driver: Yes
Computer: You would save $25.30 on the total trip.
Driver: Okay, can you reduce the noise on the diesel?
Computer: Yes we can reduce the noise by altering the fuel injecting timing and by lowering the compression ratio by 10%. In that case you will just save 23.50 by using diesel compared to regular.
Driver: Is the engine running okay?
Computer: Its running well, however, cylinder #3 is performing at 80 percent using the gasoline injector.
Driver: Can you fix it?
Computer: We will run fuel injector cleaner through the #3 cylinder injector if you wish.
Driver: Yes do that now.
Computer: The fuel injector is now cleared.
Driver: Is the engine running okay?
Computer: Yes it is fine, but try to get some better gas
........

This Hefley X2 has all the features as the X1 but it also will adjust to a wide variety of fuels. It has adjustable compression ratio built in.

It can run on regular or high test gas, E85 ethanol, diesel, bio-diesel and other fuels still under development.

All was top secret

For years we have been determined to make a completely new and  highly efficient engine. We new made designs, analyzed, made models, prototypes. There has been no news from us because we were never completely satisfied.
